Celebrating Community Through Creativity

As Manchester Survivors Choir CIC marks its 10th anniversary, we are thrilled to share the progress of our inspiring Bee Busy Project and to thank the many individuals, community groups, and organisations helping to make it possible.

The Bee Busy Project aims to create 2,000 knitted bees, each one representing resilience, hope, and unity. Inspired by Manchester’s iconic bee symbol, the project is bringing people together from across the community to contribute to a shared creative vision.

We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of supporters who have donated wool, stuffing, and crafting materials. These contributions are enabling local knitting groups, volunteers, choir members, and community participants to get involved and help create something truly special.
While the project centres around crafting, its impact reaches much further. Bee Busy is helping to strengthen community connections, encourage wellbeing, reduce social isolation, and provide opportunities for people to share skills, stories, and experiences. Every knitted bee represents not only creativity but also the power of working together towards a common goal.

As we celebrate ten years of Manchester Survivors Choir CIC, this project reflects the values that have guided our journey: support, inclusion, resilience, and community spirit. The enthusiasm and kindness shown by our supporters demonstrate just how much can be achieved when people come together.
